AMA and Wells Fargo Motorsports renew partnership, announce 2009 AMA Sanctioned Event Insurance Rate Schedule, effective 9/29/08

September 30, 2008

We’re pleased to announce that AMA and Wells Fargo Motorsports (formerly Wisenberg Motorsports) have renewed our partnership. Wells Fargo Motorsports will be the AMA’s liability insurance provider of choice for AMA sanctioned amateur and recreation events for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.

Wells Fargo Motorsports is the largest motorsports insurance agency in the country. Their carrier, ACE American, is rated A+ by A.M. Best Company. Their combination of experience, stability, and cost-effective coverage makes Wells Fargo Motorsports an excellent choice for AMA Promoting Organizers.

The new 2008/2009 AMA Sanctioned Event Insurance Rate Schedule (offered by Wells Fargo Motorsports) is available for download (PDF). This schedule applies to events operated from September 29, 2008 to September 28, 2009.

The Class structure has been revised to allow for more accurate distribution of rates. Please note the following important changes:

  1. Competition Events are contained in Classes 1-5.
  2. Recreation Events are contained in Classes 6-8, and broadly categorized as either Club-operated or Promoter-operated events.
  3. Recreation Event Rates are now based on number of attendees, and the base premium provides up to 2 days event coverage.

The new rates reflect an overall projected increase of 10% from last year, but only 2% over the past two years (as there was an 8% decrease last year). The new Class structure actually results in a decrease in rate for some events, and an increase for others, while obtaining the overall projected 10% increase.

2009 Charter, Sanction and Insurance forms are also available online in the Resources and Forms section of this site.

We appreciate your continued efforts in making AMA-sanctioned events the best amateur motorsports and recreational riding experience possible. Thank you.
