AMA Grassroots Manager Terry Lee Cook wins award
Posted April 8, 2008

Terry Lee Cook accepts his award from NOHVCC President Dan Kleen.
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council gave its most prestigious award, the NOHVCC Hall of Fame Award, to AMA Grassroots Manager Terry Lee Cook during its annual conference March 25-30 in Albuquerque.
The award states it was presented to Cook for his "continuous dedication to the NOHVCC."
Russ Ehnes, the organization's executive director, said receiving the award is a very high honor because so few have been awarded over the years.
"Maybe eight have been given out," Ehnes said, "and the first few were given to people who were founding members of the design team that made NOHVCC happen.
"Since then we've expanded it to include people who we thought were critical to NOHVCC and its mission," he said.
Cook's actions in educating people on how to affect change through grassroots efforts have been critical to the level of success that NOHVCC has achieved, Ehnes said.
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council is a publicly supported education foundation that develops programs and distributes materials and information to individuals, clubs, associations and agencies to help ensure the future of responsible OHV recreation.
Cook was humbled and honored to receive the award.
"There are many people out in the field and in statehouses and city halls across the nation fighting for the rights of motorcyclists who deserve the recognition more than I do," Cook said. "I'm happy to do what I can to help ensure a bright future for all motorcyclists."
