Veteran rider from Ohio draws best hand in 2005 AMA Poker Run Series

The luck of the draw favored Frank Cooper of Marysville, Ohio (right), in 2005, as he finished the year with the highest score in the AMA National Championship Poker Run Series.

For his first-place finish, Cooper won a plaque and a set of Dunlop tires.

For Cooper, winning was definitely not beginner's luck. The veteran motorcyclist has been riding for more than 66 years and has owned more than 20 motorcycles during his riding career.

The top-five finishers in each class win a plaque, and the winner in each class wins a free AMA membership. Second- and third-place finishers in each class receive a copy of The AMA Ride Guide to America, which features touring articles by American Motorcyclist magazine staffers and other writers and is autographed by AMA Vice President Greg Harrison, editor of the book.
